Cornwall's Premier Steam Line
The Bodmin & Wenford Railway connects some of the oldest railway trackbeds in the UK, including parts of the 1834 Bodmin & Wadebridge Railway. It is unique for its challenging terrain, featuring some of the steepest railway gradients in the country (1 in 40). The line's main headquarters at Bodmin General is a flawlessly restored 1950s station, offering an authentic "Cornish Branch Line" experience that celebrates the region's mining and porcelain clay heritage.
