A world-class heritage hub and a frequent star of the silver screen, the Nene Valley Railway offers a sophisticated 7.5-mile journey through the heart of the Nene Valley. Unique in the UK for its curated 'International' collection of locomotives and rolling stock, the line is a living film set that has stood in for iconic locations in Hollywood blockbusters—from James Bond to Indiana Jones—while preserving the trans-European spirit of standard-gauge rail history.

Railway History

The International Railway

The Nene Valley Railway (NVR) occupies part of the former London & North Western Railway branch from Blisworth to Peterborough. It is unique among UK heritage lines for its "International" focus, housing locomotives and rolling stock from across Europe. Its Wansford station and tunnel have stood in for numerous overseas locations in major films, making it a "working studio" that celebrates both British and international railway history.
