The Piece Hall
Blackledge Halifax HX1 1RE

The Piece Hall in Halifax is an architectural masterpiece of the 18th century and the only surviving building of its kind in the world. Originally opened in 1779 as a magnificent hall for the trading of "pieces" of cloth, this Grade I listed building now serves as a spectacular open-air destination for culture, leisure, and independent retail. Its vast Georgian courtyard is surrounded by three tiers of elegant stone colonnades, hosting everything from world-class concerts and festivals to artisan markets. It is a stunning example of industrial heritage reimagined as a vibrant social heart for the community.
