Conwy Castle is a magnificent medieval fortress and a masterpiece of 13th-century military engineering. Built by Edward I as part of his "Iron Ring" in North Wales, it is famous for its soaring curtain walls and eight massive round towers that dominate the historic town below. The castle is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site together with the town’s exceptionally preserved medieval walls. Visitors can explore the well-preserved royal chambers, the great hall, and the battlements that offer spectacular views of the Conwy estuary and the mountains of Snowdonia. It remains a powerful monument to the power and architecture of the Middle Ages.
